Does anyone have a report for east cayon. I really wanna head out tomorrow but I want to feel safe and not fall throw the ice.
So how much ice is there, and how is the fish?
Also what about lost creek?
And how is pineviewer doing right now? Just want to go hit some perch fishing if we go here…
So give’em the reports please.
Read the Ice Conditions sticky there are a few reports for EC. One guy says 2-3" at Taylor Hollow and another says someone fell in at Dixie. If I were to head there I would be extra cautious, and please be sure to let the rest of us know. Thanks and good luck.
I did read it, I just didn’t find much help out of it. And this sticks out a little more..
Anyone else.. What about the other lakes.
So I’m taking it dont go to East Cayon?
my buddy fished east canyon today and said ice was 4 inches catching was not bad, he fished taylor hollow, i also witnessed people fishing pineview today as i was headed up to powder mtn to board.
where were they fishing on pineview, I will definitely take your word for it seeing first hand. I’m headed up in the morning, which way is safe? Thanks Wildcat.
Ya where at on pineview..
And what kind of ice did EC have?
Any reorts on Lost Creek?
Three groups where in the narrows and the other two were on the south side just a little east of the narrows off the main point…good luck
Went for the tour this morning (1-2-2011) and found people out from the boat ramp at East Canyon on the ice. Walked out and talked to one guy and he said the ice was 4-5 inches and he hadn’t caught anything so far. Drove up to Rockport, half the lake is open water. Did see some ice shelters toward the southeast end. The road to Lost Creek is plowed only to the last house and from there is it “on your own”. I saw tracks going back in there but was too chicken to drive up there any further. As far as Echo goes, there were people along the east side close to the shore on the ice.

I was one of the crazy ones to try and drive up to the dam. Unless you have all day, some extra food, and a good shovel, it would be much easier to access the dam with a snowmobile than by driving there in a truck. Someone drilled a couple of holes in the ice right near the dam. I was up there before this last big storm (12/27/10) and there was open water. I go up there fairly regularly and will post updates as to road and ice conditions.
Welcome to the site Morganfishinman, thanks for the report on the road and ice conditions at lost creek. We haven’t had anyone make it up there, so it is always good to get some first hand info

Perchski what time were you on pineview? And where? I was there with my father and friend we were in the green eskimo hub shelter. would have talked to you about the sulfer tourney if i had known.
Hit east canyon today 1/2/2011. Fished towards the south end (were the lake gets narrow before opening back up towards east canyon resort) with plenty of other people. We fished on 5-6 inches of ice with plenty of room for more people. People wandered towards the middle then came back and said it was a bit sketchy. I pulled out 14 rainbows from 10:00 til 2. Fishing was pretty consistant and they were a fairly good sized fish for EC. All about 14-15 inchers
We got there around 8am and fished the narrows straight off the trail from the parking area across from the caretakers about in the middle. I didn’t get to stay too long, I had a couple of friends with me that got cold and one had to get to work that afternoon. I usually wear my black and tan Wyoming Cowboy coat with black snowpants and most times can be found on an orange home depot bucket. I’m always glad to meet new folks on the ice, definitely stop me if you see me out there.
