Has anyone been to East Canyon recently? I want to make a trip close to home.
Went this morning. Group on five of us fished for three hours with one fish. Most fish I heard caught were 4. Very slow.

How thick is the ice ?? Any snow machines out there ??
No snow machines. Fished just north of the boat launch. 6-7" of ice.
I heard there is still some open water out in the middle.
Did see the open water in the upper end. Still there.
Welcome to the site TM. I haven’t been up there but I did talk to a guy that was up there yesterday, that told me that the back is frozen and folks were fishing there but it is a long very steep hike down to the water.

I was there yesterday from 7:30 to noon. There were a lot of fish moving through where I was at but I did not have what they were looking for. SO MANY PEOPLE!
Ice is a consistent 5 to 6 inches thick. There was 1 group come out near me on a 4 wheeler and he seemed a bit nervous but kept on moving around.
The edges when I left still were in good shape.
I did not drive down to get a closer look, but there still is open water in the middle of the lake.
