Well after being skunked by wipers the last two times out, i decided i would catch some trout. Well I haven’t been to East canyon since late june early july what the heck. Well the Lake level is down quite a bit since last time out and the trout were not in the same area. We struggled but were able to catch 7 decent size rainbows before i had to leave so i could make it to work. Usual stuff pop gear rapala’s, squids, and trout killers flavored with worms. Thinking maybe i should have went to Rockport next time next time. I want to catch some more wipers boiling is that over for the year now. .
Thanks for the report Goose, too bad the catching was so slow but better than being skunked.
With the water being so cloudy @ willard, it has really put the brakes on the boils. The water temp is still warm enough, hopefully it will clear up before the temp drops too much.

Trout are a little more difficult to catch than they should be at EC. Imagine you did not do any bass fishing up there? Getting up there tomorrow but I mainly target bass when fishing that lake. How was the power squadron?
My work week varies week to week so the weeks i worked 4-12 i would go to east canyon 1-2 times a week and i had no problem catching trout until the past trip. I did notice a lot of algea floating in the water i’m sure that had something to do with it. The other reason i go there it is closer then echo or rockport and i still need to get to work. I didn’t target any bass i pretty much gave up bass fishing when i moved to this state from Michigan. Of course that was back in 93 so no excuses.
