I sent a list of three questions to Drew Cushing, Director of Warm Water Fisheries. Here is that list and his replies:
-
When were the first tigers planted in Pineview?
Tiger Muskies were first stocked in the 1988 -
What has been the observed growth rate on Utah tigers?
In Utah they seem to put on about 10-15 inches on per year between their first and 3rd year after that they slow down somewhat. -
What is the projected natural life span for Pineview tigers?
In Utah tiger muskies typically live 7 years. An 8 year old tiger musky is an old fish.
Back in the mid-west the water is typically cooler so the fish grow slower but live longer. Here they really grow fast but a fairly short life expectancy.
I hope this helps
