Doc Warners Alaska Trip

Well we just got back from Alaska with Doc Warners fishing adventures, My wife and i had a great time. Fishing was great and the weather was better than expected, And thanks to all the little tips from the BFT members that helped us have the Best trip we have ever been on. Here are a few pictures…

How much did the fish in the last photo weigh? Looks like you had a great time. If it was anything like what my son caught(110lbs), I’m sure it was like reeling in a spare tire for a Semi.

251 lbs and the one laying on the dock is 108 lbs

That is one BIG Halibut! What did it weigh? I fished up ther 3 years ago but only caught 30 pounders.

See the reply above your post.

Got a question for ya. What in the world is that first fish it is pretty cool looking, but I have never seen anything like it??

That is called a Pacific Cod. Great eating also

Thanks for the post. I’m headed to SE Alaska in 10 days. Can’t wait.

Cool thanks for the reply, I have caught a few ling cod, this cod is much prettier. I bet they are good to eat, cod is way under rated in my book. They make delicious fish tacos!!

That is so totally awesome!! what weekend were you up there?? i just got back about 2 weeks ago from Doc Warners:) I had a great time! and man those Halibuts are beasts! we caught a 220lbs halibut that we thought was a giant! but 250lbs! man that is a hog!!

Are you guys catching those giant halibut out of the little boats they provide at Doc Warners or taking a charter. I would think it would be near impossible to boat a fish that big with the boats they give you there.

There catching those HOGS in their boat. Nice work Tom. Glad you enjoyed the trip. Ours 2 years ago was definitely the trip of a life time as well. Great pictures. Thanks for sharing.

Thanks Brent
And yes the big fish fit in the little boats at Doc Warner’s. You just need to make sure that a fish that size is dead before loading it in the little boat…LOL LOL NO Joke they have had guys get busted legs broken, bones, and boats that have went to the bottom of the ocean loading fish that size alive
