Tried to get out all day and finally made it to the dam about 3:30 Like to not got the boat off the trailer with the 2ft waves rolling in on the ramp. It was tough to find some place to get out of the horrendous wind (hey, you gotta go fishing when you get the chance, not always the best of times, lol). But finally managed to find a couple places manageable. Caught several slicks on a spinnerbait and then started fishing a shaky head with a chigger craw. Everything was right up on the banks.

An interesting outing and something that has never happened to me before. . I finally hooked a descent fish that broke the line; of course I was trying a new combination of 6lb braid and an 8lb Fluorocarbon leader so I blamed it on the leader, cut it off and re armed with straight braid and the same bait. Fifteen minutes later I hooked another one and got it to the boat, about a 2 lb large-mouth, it was beginning to rain steadily so I threw it in the live well and hurried to get my jacket.

When I got ready to call it a day, I was releasing my fish and noticed this fish had some line coming out of the mouth. Low and behold it was the fluorocarbon leader! i know it was mine because I use Punisher shakey heads which are blue and the shakey head was still in his throat attached to the line! I have never seen a fish hit the same bait twice. Not the smartest bass in the lake, but evidently the hungriest.
