Didn’t have access to a computer the last week. So here is 5 straight days of fishing in one report. Monday went to Deer Creek. Fished a placed I had never been to by the buyoys on the east side of Deer creek. i’m a west side kind of fisherman when it comes to Deer Creek. Very dissappointing outing only three bass all small. friend caught two rainbows. TUESDAY: Hit Deer Creek again this time on the west side. Put on a rapalla did ok. Caught 10 small smallies. But did manage a 10 lb carp on a panther martin. Also caught on 12 inch rainbow on the rapalla. WEDNESDAY: Utah Lake Lindon boat harbor. Decide to try my luck at crappie and blue gill fishing. Used a 1/32 small tube jig behind a bobber. Was one of the best fishing outings i have had in some time. I caught a 12 inch monster crappie, 5 blue gill, 2 smaller crappies, and a surprising 18 inch largemouth, no clue what it weighed it was huge. I would guess almost 4 pounds. Tried downloading the picture off my picture phone, no luck. THURSDAY: Utah Lake L.B.H. tried same spot. Only caught 1 blue gill and a 13 inch largemouth. Went in the middle of the day probably why it was so slow. FRIDAY: Lower Provo: right at the mouth of the Provo Canyon. Put on my favorite size 7 floating trout rapalla and went to work. Caught and released 5 browns. Missed or lost around 25 browns. Had a new rapalla on too. It was early so most of the misses were lighter hits. Missed a couple of real nice ones. Sorry not much detail in the report. I had too much fishing to write about in one report. TODAY: Deer Creek i’ll post tomorrow about how that goes. So all in all I caught seven species in 5 days. I forgot to mention i caught 10 small whities in the harbor on both Utah lake trips. TOMORROW: L.B.H : CATFISHING.
Seven species in five days thats impressive
Well i got my 8th species last night at Deer Creek. A 20 inch nice male walleye. Caught him while fishing for smallies. Got him on a crawdad jig. Thought it was a largemouth until i got it on the bank. i released him. Mostly because in 8 years of fishing D.C. I’ve never accidently caught a walleye as nice as that one. caught 5 smalies no size to them. Going for ten species tonight in one week. Going to utah lake. Got to get a mud cat and a channel and then i have a goal met i never set. Weird week never done so much fishing in a seven day period. When the antidepressants aren’t working prescribe yourself 7 days of straight fishing, before long pfizer and lilly will be out of business.
