We decided that today was the day to hit Deer Creek and see if we could find any walleye. We tried drop shots, bottom bouncers, and even put on a few rapalas without much success. Rushy Hook did manage to boat a nice 18 inch male walleye. It was skinny and was post spawn. Got a few bows on the bottom bouncers with the biggest being 18 inches. It really was a beautiful day and very warm. The water temp was 58 at mid lake on the RR side and actually got cooler closer to the Provo River inlet. We had a few nibbles on the drop shots thst felt like perch but no hookups. The water is quite low now and they have a sign posted that it will get lower. Come mid summer we probably won’t be able to launch a boat. All in all it was a great day even though the eyes were few.
Thanks for the report. I am going to try again later this week.
What ramp did you launch at ?
we put in at the State Marina. It is still open but not for much longer. They do have a gate up and ready to close when the water is too low. We were fine as far as enough ramp but we only have an 18 ft . I’m not sure about the ramp by the island.
