Just wondering if anyone has seen some perch around D.C.
I fish deer creek 2 or 3 times a week. I rarely have seen any perch. But i haven’t been looking for them. lots of bass, but i’m sure you already know that.
I also fish Deer Creek frequently. I fish for bass and walleye. When the bass and walleye fishing is slow, I fish for trout. I haven’t caught a perch in over a year.

I caught some through the ice this last season at Rainbow Bay 15’-25’ of water. Not very many but they are there.
Two perch 7"- 4 walleye 16" - Sat the 16th. Place was a Zoo! Won’t go back on the weekend again. Spinner-riggin
Up near the river inlet, the perch are suicidal up there…i was putting my buddies walleye on the stringer on my tube, my worm dangling literally 3 to 4 inches over the water NOT cast out rod in my holder…BAM!! 12 inch perch jumps up grabs worm joins walleye on stringer…im telling you they are suicidal up there. this was over memorial day weekend. fathers day water was WAYYY down from where it was when the incident occurred. we got nuthing but sunfish in the 6 to 10 inch range…no keepers.
River inlet??? I dont see any river inlet. Been to dc 4 time, one was on a small boat. I keep hearing people say that pearch tasted like walleye. Just never eat a pearch befor. DC is closest to where I live. Thought i try to put one in my frying pan[:)]
Thanks for the update
Drop me a PM and I’ll walk ya around the pond … so to speak. I live close by also and fish it regular. Be glad to have ya tag along sometime.
The 16th was busy from the Utah Summer Games that is why all the sail craft was out. But it was extra busy.
That was the most sailboats I have seen on one body of water ever! The wind really made the Island ramp a ZOO from 1:00 on.
I would have paid to have been and Observer not a Perticipant at the Ramp!!! Did you fish that day and how was it?
I didn’t see the Pontoon boat.
As a kid growing up fishing Deer Creek, I could never imagine anyone ever making a post wondering where the perch were. My dad used to say that he was sure that he could catch a trout if only he could keep the perch off. I am confident that I averaged well over 100 perch every time I fished it. In those days very few people in Utah considered perch anything other than a trash fish.
I try to stay away on the weekends. I did drive by at 4:30 on my way to work and it looked to be a zoo.
I went last year to see the sailboat races (my friend was an official) and it was the funniest thing I have ever seen. NO WIND! Nothing at all lthe boats were dead in the water. They had to be towed back to the ramp. Funny haha and funny wierd. Who would believe Deer Creek with no W in the afternoon.
Work been keeping me off the water lately, read TD report today sound like yall had a good time. I’m heading back to CA. for work next month. Maybe when I get back, I like to tage along with y’all on your next fishen tripe. Just pickup a tube at Sportman on Sunday, been dieing to try it out.
When ya get back drop me a pm and we’ll balance our dance cards.
The river inlet is where the Provo River runs into Deer Creek. Charleston bridge on the road to midway from the Canyon road and all past the hatchery on the east side of lake toward the north end. the north is where the inlet is at. there is a river between jordanelle and Deer creek…the provo (middle provo) section runs out of J. and into D.C.
