Deer Creek and Strawberry from shore

Started at Deer Creek a little towards midway from the island on the rocks. Stayed for about and hour and a half and caught 2 planters. Threw out powerbait, worms, and an assortment of spinners but only pick them up on the powerbait. Very slow.

Decided to try our luck at Strawberry from Renegade. Many more people up there compared to Wednesday afternoon. Moved down the shore a bit from the launch at Renegade and threw out some powerbait and worms. Started getting bites on the power bait right away. Nothing on the worms and hardware again. Ended up catching a total of 8 fish and all were cutts except one chunk rainbow. All fish were in the 18-24 inch range and 2-4 lb. Fun day from shore at Strawberry. Love the fall fishing.

Thanks for your post…I was wondering how Deer Creek was doing these days. Great work at Strawberry…I only get 2-4 fish there in a day…love Current Creek way more. Nice pictures BTW.

It looks like a nice glass day! maybe I will take my boat up…just one more time

My son and I were up on 11/11/11 and should have taken the boat up. It was one of the nicest fall weather we have had up there. We fished the Renegade area and walked to the Narrows along the shore. We caught 8 nice bows and released about as many cutts. Some of the boaters were doing well others didn’t have as much luck.

Sounds slow for DC lately, everybody must have already caught the thousands of trout planted there recently ha ha.
