Took a buddy up to DC to hook him up with some of the Smallies that have been going crazy up there. We were on the water around 7:00ish and fished until 10:30. I thought I would throw for some LMB while he chased the Smallies. I caught 14 LMB on the day and a bunch of Smallies to add to my friends 30+ fish day. All the LMB were around the same size and I ended up pulling in a nice 2 lb. Samllie followed by a 1.2 lb Smallie. Super fun day and my only regret was not having my pole in the water more (had to lend a hand removing all my friends hooks haha).
Nice work! Were you tossing cranks? I may go there instead of strawberry next week.
My wife and my 2 nephews were up there yesterday as well. Fishing was great. My oldest nephew is 9 and he got what I would guess is a 3.5 lb walleye to the boat where it got off and landed a few smallies and well more then our share of rainbows. We bait fished at first then trolled and downrigged. Seemed like everything we tried we caught fish on. It was a great day.

Quite a few of the smallies were caught on a small crank but the LMB were on a jig. Deer Creek has produced fish anyday of the week to some degree.
That must have been the part of Deer Creek that the spear fishermen were not allowed in. [;)]

I got a LMB just that size on Staurday morning 5:30am to 6:30 using poppers. Also about 8 SMB.
