Sounds like the Portneuf AFS is sponsoring an ice fishing derby at Deep Creek Reservoir this year. Here is the info if you are interested.
The Derby will be held on Saturday, February 8th, 2014 from 8:00 AM to 3:00 PM.
Attached to are the Derby rules and application as well as a map to Deep Creek.
Grand prizes of $600 for first place, $300 for second, and $150 for third. Bring extra change for the Raffle too!

I am confused by rule #5 & #8. You can only use one rainbow, no cuttbows or cutthroat. However you can turn in two fish? I have only caught rainbows and cutts in that lake. So essentially you can register one fish?

100 people out on deep Creek at once? Wow that sounds like a terrible idea. Its one of the smaller reservoirs in south east idaho.
My guess parking will be a nightmare. There are not a lot of places to park in the winter. One knucklehead gets stuck on the snow covered road into or out of the dam. You will all be there for awhile. Looks like a great opportunity for Alberts towing service to make some cold hard cash.
$30.00 to enter the Derby. Maybe, 9 or 10 ? people need a tow out at $90.00. I think Albert’s towing just won the derby.

Didnt they try to do a tourny at deepcreek last year and the fish and game shut them down because of the water level? Its a whole lot lower than it was last year. wonder how they got it pushed threw

So how did the Derby end up; I didn’t see any results. I fish Deep Creek quite a bit and was just curious of what the top fish lengths were. If you don’t want to share to all, you can PM me. Thanks
18 inch for first and 15 in. For 2 and 14 7/8 for 3 I had a fish that was 15 but the way they where measuring said 14 3/4 so I guess just out of the money out of the 100 that was going to fish there was only 40 at most tough day 6in of water with a foot of snow on top and most of the fish was around 14 better lucky next year
