I just barely got back from a day on my own at DC.
Spent 3.5 hrs looking for walleye.
Accepted my beating and switched over to trout to at least get a pole bent.
Caught nearly 20 with homemade spinners/crawler bits and missed at least 1.5 times that many while trying to manage two poles.
Get your kids/wife/friends up there asap and troll chrome spinners or spoons, tipped with crawler pieces, about 1.5 mph at the top of the water column and load your smoker!
I too was up bank tangling on Deer Creek in search of eyes, but only scored a few perch and smallmouth. I usually am in a float tube, but decided to get some hiking in. No slimers were hurt in my quest.

10 to 11 inchers. I hope it freezes so I can score some more iced eyes.

I was catching a lot of those this summer in the weeds but lost them when the lake receded. Oh well.
