Planning on heading to Deer Creek tomorrow and was wondering if anyone has been recently. Any reports about the ice and the fishing would be greatly appreciated!
Getting on and off the ice was fine, no soft spots by the island. Fishing was kind of hit and miss, I moved a couple times and all I could catch yesterday was 13" trout.
Ice was an easy 12", slush was an easy 4-5".
Tuesday, it was fine. Nice and cold in the morn, there is a lot of snow on the ice’ burnished to a hard crust. Under that there was a layer of slush later in the day so walking you’d break through and it FELT dicey, but everywhere I drilled I found ice was 12" or more.
