Been away from the site for a bit due to school and work being hectic all spring. Glad to be back. I’m wanting to go up to Deer Creek in the morn to due some first outing of the year spring fishing with my 3 year old daughter. Has anyone heard or been up there to give a report?
I was there on Friday Morning 9:30 until about noon caught 6 trout 10 to 14 inches. Kept 2. Had a lot of bites. Had a great time.
If you have a boat read on…if you’re fishing from shore…dunno…SORRY (except for the guy fishing off of/over the boat ramp who didn’t seem to be doing to well)
I was there today [fishin]from about 7 til 2ish and only caught 3, trolling with p-gear/worm on lead (2 colors) and dodgers w/wormharness on dwnrigger (20’ deep) @ about 1.5 mph. Last weekend…hmmmm…I think it was Thurs actually, but anyway… We caught about 10 or 12 in like 4 hrs!! (10 of those are still swimming, unless some one else got ‘em) Same stuff. Darn snow storms!!
Hope you get less wind. At about noon the W word kicked up and competition thinned QUICKLY. There were very few boats left out. I give up ONLY after the biggest fish twists my arm and sez it’s time to go. She loves me tho’!
I wasn’t impressed with myself at all today…3 is like catching none at all…especially when I DIDN’T!! She did!
oh well, next time…
Water was about 48 to 49 all day…it didn’t warm any more than the wind did. It was COLD almost all day, except for the 15 minutes right about 11. Then she got down to her bikini, but got dressed 30 minutes later
Anyhoo…good luck and hope this helps. Oh, one other thing, at the river end between the island and river there were bugs and bug hatches GALORE!! Swallows were busy as bees. There were alot of fish on the screen but none wanted to bite. The 3 fish I did bring home (not for me…her - the woman loves her trout…ewww[:p]) had nothing…NOTHING… in their bellies. THAT WAS WEIRD!! The ones from last week had TONS of scuds or some little green bug in 'em…dunno…still anal izing it.
