We took the boat out to DC for our first (boat) fishing of the year on Saturday. The weather wasn’t very good. We arrived around 9 and the wind was blowing 5 to 10 mph. When we left at 2 the wind was blowing 15 to 20 mph. Even though the wind was blowing it wasn’t too cold. The fishing was slow. We only caught 14 rainbows for the day. We changed lures a lot trying to find what worked best. The first five fish were caught all on different lures. Silver KastMasters, Rainbow sinking #5 Rapala, Roster Tail, Gold Jakes, and a Green Flat Fish with spots. Even though it was slow fishing it was great being out on the water again. My new fish finder and electric trolling motor both worked great. I looking forward to creating memories with good friends and good stories while fishing.
Looked like fun. Cant wait to get out on the lake.I am assuming by your pictures that the whole lake is open water now?
That looks like a good day to me. Great report and pics. Boating is on! Never have boated that place for fishing… yet.

Seriously, glad you caught some and had a good trip out. DC is a nice close lake for me, so I need to learn more about it.

Trust me I’m not bragging about this fishing trip. We had 4 guys on the boat so we averaged just over 3 fish each in 5 hours. It was a good day but we didn’t slay them. 
I never want to brag about fishing. The fish will humble us all soon enough.
