Finally made it back up to the berry friday with a friend from work. Got up there a bit before 7 and realized I’d forgotten my net so we hit the marina store and bought one of their huge nets and boy am I glad I did! We got on the water and the fish wern’t jumping in the boat so we kept trying different lures and methods. Maybe I’m doing it wrong or maybe I just need a better fish finder but I have a hard time with the tube jigs you guys all praise, we caught most of our fish dragging leeches and trolling lures.
About 10 i went back to my fly rig and tied on a purple bunny leech and just as I had stopped to change flies WHAM! hooked into a fat 24" cutt and played him in after a few good runs! He was by far the biggest but we landed around 17, not a bad day in my book.

Yeah! And it helps me forget all those days when the fishing wasn’t so great! That one should keep me warm at nights for a while
