Decided to give the kokes a break and catch some panfish and save them from an impending doom! Fishing was not Crsppy, the Crappie we very eager participants. Got on the water shortly after 6 when the gates opened at Anderson, ramp is not a problem still concrete into the water. From buddy who was there a little bit ago it’s dropping pretty fast. We did not venture far and found willing crappie. We had 2 boats with 5 guys and a couple youngsters. Crappie action was pretty steady. Small jigs sometimes tandem and multiples doubles. We founts them in about 10 to 15 feet deep
Suspended and near the bottom . About every 10 th one a better sized fish. I kept most everything considering they will go to waste and bubba made short work of them easily on even on small ones, a decent piece to cook up. I think you can find them in the back of any arm in same basic depth pattern. Live scope made easy work on finding lots of schools . We didn’t try to search out bigger fish. Plan was get em and get off before it got crazy with power squad we quit before 11 and it was still ok but they were showing up and several buzzed around way too fast and too close. So we split. Each boat got well over 100 plus . I kept 44 got 6 lbs of fillets. Yumm! Better than going
to waste for sure.
