:sunglasses:Thanks to everybody that participated. There were some really good ideas. Some were a bit too restrictive and others were much to generalized. Still others were just not quite something we could do and monitor properly, without raising challenges and contentions. I know we are all honest…at least you and I are…but sometimes I wonder about you.

All entries had good ideas, and some were well thought out on all levels. Others started out good but took a complicated twist…or became too involved or potentially expensive for BFTers on a budget. We need to be able to include everybody.

And, as far as prizes for future contests, I will do what I can to get more swag from the company store, but we are not the only board (just the best) and there are limits to promotion budgets. I also have my own limitations. I am not filthy rich…just filthy. I am happy to do what I can, but us mods are not paid for what we do.

It would be great if those of you who have contacts with Sportsmans or Cabelas…Or???..could ask around to see if we could pry loose some goodies.

And now…(drum roll)…here’s how it shook out. I picked 4 winners and 8 honorable mentions. The terms of the contest were that there would be only 4 winners. Each of these will receive hats. I added the honorable mentions because several entries had some good ideas and should not be ignored. I will put up a 6-pack of assorted jigs or jig heads for the HM category. All other participants…even just commentors…can receive a BFT patch and a couple of stickers…if they want them.

I can handle the postage on the patch/sticker winners. Simple envelope. For those who won hats or goodie packs, I would appreciate it if you could either pick them up at my place or arrange for a handoff if a fellow BFTer is coming to town…or when I go north or south.

Winners send me a PM with your name, mailing address, phone number, etc. I will supply my address and phone to winners of hats and lures. You can work out the details. Of course, if you really need for me to mail your winnings, I will do so. I’m just cheap sometimes.

Also, for lure winners, let me know what kind of fishing you do and in general what kind of jigs and colors you might want.

The trash clean-up contest would be great, I think we should do this anyway. Prize? Kids get to meet a guy named “Tube Dude.”[;)]

:sunglasses:A board is one thing, but we were seeking contest ideas. Not many BFT members are more than “average” weekend anglers and could not participate.

Let’s see what we can do about setting up ANOTHER board.

I would definitely be interested in that. All we would have to do is set up a page with links to all the game fish in Utah and set the appropriate standards for fish size. Once the record is set by someone, the pic would be posted under the link for that fish and when you click on the link it shows you the current record holder for that species with the pic. I’m sure there is alot more to setting the page up but I’m all for it!

:sunglasses:I might offer a suggestion. How about a two-fold board. Set it up both for pics of everybody’s biggest fish, in all categories, kind of like the ice fishing contest thing. The other part of the program could be a biggest of the bigguns or something.

That would let everybody play.

I like that idea. Could even break it down by species. Lots of ways we could do it. :sunglasses:

:sunglasses:IF…we can get it approved, I have some definite ideas about how to set up the structure so that you guys can work with it on an ongoing basis. I have been through all that with the different things on the tubing board. it’s easy once you have done it.

Let it rest right now. When it is a done deal, we will get it set up right.
