Any community ponds that are ice free. Tried Holmes but there was still ice.
Just looking to go somewhere for a couple hours this weekend.
Any ideas where it should be good fishing?[;)]
Bountiful Pond is ice free and they just planted some rainbows in it last week. But I’ve never had any luck there myself, but I have only fished it a couple times for about an hour each time.
If you are looking to go trout fishing I saw on my way home the other day they were stocking the Farmington Ponds but there must have been twenty people lining the banks as they put the fish in. They should have stocked Clinton Pond this week.
Ya the stocking report shows the SL County ponds were all stocked too. I imagine they probably stocked community ponds in Utah County and elsewhere too, but just haven’t reported it yet.
Well all I have to say is bring your nets if your going to Steed Pond.
Managed 5 trout broods using powerbait. They all put up an excellent fight.[;)]
Started fishing by 8 and left at 11
Is Steed good or is it too crowded? I drive by there everyday and it looks super busy?
Yes it is very busy!
Especially when they first stocked it. Give it a try though when you can. I use a sinker bobber with an 18 inch leader and any powerbait.
I was out in my tube one morning and caught 5 trout in about 2 hours all about 16 inches. I left before it got too busy since its not a big pond. Good old power bait on the bottom worked for me, I also fish Maybe pond in clearfield, mainly from the tube and always pull out some nice catfish in the summer.
ya man if you got time to go to the herriman ponds they must have just stocked them i cought twenty fish yesterday off of anything gold they loved any kind of jakes i used
