Fished for about 4 hours or so at CJ on Friday. Fishing was decent. We caught several crappie in the 8-10 inch range as well as smaller ones, several perch around 9-10 inches, and a couple bass. The highlight was a nice 18-19 inch bass I caught on my ice fishing rod. What a HOOOOOOOT! We didn’t catch any bass that I can recall in the short time that we were targeting them.
Anyway, we filled the better part of my 45 quart cooler in that time. Finally, in the last 9 minutes we decided to keep count. We caught 12 crappie and perch in the last 9 minutes, which was pretty indicative of the whole time we were targeting perch and crappie.
Small (1.5 to 2 inch) curly tails in dark colors worked really well. Fished them quickly in the upper 3-7 FOW seemed to work best but you could also get them deeper.
We’re taking the Motorhome to cottonwood on Thursday and are gonna stay until the next Tuesday. I’ll share a waypoint or two if you can make it. Your always welcome at my fire. Noticed the perch numbers are down, but the sizes are up. Hope it freezes again this year.

I’m tentatively planning on going over for Friday. I’ll launch at Cottonwood. Perhaps I’ll run into you. I run a 14 ft gamefisher (camo) with a 15 HP Honda 4 stroke. If you see me, say hello.
Sorry we couldn’t make it over to share your fire, my wifes eyes were giving her fits for some reason. Hope your, fishing report shows me I need to get on the water!
