We went up to Lost Creek, not a single trout. Caught a bunch of chubs, and about 7 PM they started boiling everywhere. Thousands of them. We thought they were being chased by trout, but it turns out they were rising at bugs. Caught them on a fly, 3-6 inch long chubs by the thousands. Not good news for Lost Creek.
I’ve noticed that, too. I’ve caught them trolling with gear chubs really shouldn’t be hitting, bait, flies. They’re all over the place. Anyone say slot limit?
I got to agree there lots of chubs we fished from the shore over by the boat ramp and between the 3 of us caught probably 5 or 6 chubs and 5 bows. The lakes seems to be getting hit pretty hard thinking the trout numbers have been dwindled.
Chubs have been in there for a long while. I don’t think they will overrun the place, but I guess it is possible.
