Catfishin'

I was wondering about the cats in willard bay. Do they get to be good sized (20-30lbs)? How many are in there, are they few and far between, or can you target them and have a good day?

I have uploaded a video on my profile of a friend and I catfishin’ in North Dakota on the Red River of the north, if any of you are interested.

Willard has lots of smaller cats (see Tubedude’s post from today in the float tube forum). You’re not going to find anywhere in Utah where you can consistently catch 20lb cats. Utah Lake probably has the biggest population of larger cats. Keep in mind the state record is 32lbs.

Most cats in willard are on the small side but you can target them and catch the hell out of them. Utah lake is the best choice around that is close for larger cats. If you know what you are doing you can consistantly catch 8-10lbs fish with a good chance at a 20 pounder.
