catching chub

this may be a stupid question but how do you guys catch chub? and what is the best way to do it? what do i use for bait? i have never went out to catch chub, but i want to get a bunch for bait  thanks for all the help

Worms on the bottom. Small jig heads or flies. Thats it, they hit anything.

Many of us use casting nets and minnow traps.

i like the minnow trap idea. what would you say is the best bait to bait it with?

I left about 70 on the ice at Scofield yesterday.

I prefer the cheapest dried dog food that I can find.

What setup do you use to get your worms to the bottom. I was thinking of using the standard hook, small leader, swivel and egg weight setup. Do you use a different/better rig?

Here is a Link of a post I did in the last few weeks…It should have everything you are looking for(pics of size there):

That rig sounds great, but use 2 hooks, minimal leader and keep it so you can feel everything…bullet weight. They are pretty dumb, you just need to keep moving and do a slow drag along the bottom till you find a school. Start on the dam at settlement canyon and work your way areound casting every 10 feet or so.
