Cat fishing Friday Night

I want to take my grand kids cat fishing Friday night. Thinking about staying in the campground at either Provo Boat Harbor or Willard Bay. Currently both have a camp spot open for the evening. Will fish till the kids zonk out. What say all you cat fishers. Where of the two would be best. Willard would be the south marina. I have never been over there.

Let me preface the earlier post a bit more. I will have 6 maybe 7 kids along with their mothers and one father. They run in age from 2 to 9. None of them have fished for cats before. I haven’t sought cats for several years. I used to take my son to Utah lake once in a while, but that has been around 20 years ago. So, any advise on places to go and bait to use would be good. Crawlers, stink bait (Mr. Catfish), chicken liver and shrimp is what we used to use. Only been to Willard once chasing them and we got skunked. So, any help would be appreciated. Most likely will turn into a 1 night camping trip, but who knows. A couple of the kids could turn into real troopers and we might sit up drowning bait til early in the morning. Thanks for any suggestions and help.

I haven’t fished Willard, but many of the posts have indicated it is a bit slow this year. I know the cats are biting on UL though. I’ve been floating worms or white bass under bobbers near the rocks when I’ve had a chance to get out there.

I was out at the south marina a couple weeks ago I sinked beef liver and cought some small ones
