A six-hour run with Blue Sky Cabo Fishing Charter and Tours produced four sailfish near the 95 Buoy on October 5. This was a larger group outing involving 15 guests and two offshore yachts—the 50-foot Viking Blue Ocean and 43-foot Riviera Blue Sky.

Fishing began at 7:00 AM and continued until 1:00 PM. By the end of the charter, the combined result was four sailfish caught and four released.

The group chose to fish without the optional dredge program on either boat.

That meant both crews had to generate their opportunities using the presentations they selected for the conditions encountered offshore.

Cabo Sportfishing Catch Shows Billfish Activity

Four sailfish in six hours provided a solid result for the group.

Sailfish are built for speed and can turn a hookup into an active fight quickly, particularly when they begin jumping.

With 15 guests participating, operating two yachts provided an important advantage. Each vessel could run its own fishing program rather than requiring everyone to rotate through a single fishing area.

The charter record confirms the combined four-sailfish total but does not document how many were caught aboard each yacht. For that reason, the catch is being reported as a combined group result rather than assigning individual fish to either boat.

Cabo Fishing Charter Built for a Large Group

The two-boat setup also provided substantially more space for guests between periods of fishing activity.

Breakfast, bait and fishing licenses were included. The charter also provided open bar service and an Arch visit, with photography and bonus video available when possible.

For fishermen tracking Cabo’s October offshore activity, the important location detail from this trip was the 95 Buoy area.

The boats worked that zone for a combined result of four billfish, and every sailfish was returned to the water.

Two yachts, one large group and four successful billfish releases made this a productive October morning offshore from Cabo San Lucas.
