Do you need a permit for a fish that has no limit on the lake? Are burbot considered game fish?
No they are not considered a game fish but you do have to have a licence to fish for them.
Please feel free to correct me, but I believe that in WY the burbot is native in some areas and is considered a game fish, with limits. But special modifications have been made for certain waters in the state for illegally transplanted burbot.
That it very well could be. I only know the Utah laws.
Wyoming has a limit of three.
The creel limit of three only applies to certain areas of the state of Wyoming.
Everything west of the Continental Divide where Burbot are not a native fish, their creel limit is UNLIMITED.

All waters within Area 4 in Carbon, Lincoln, Sublette, Sweetwater
and Uinta Counties.
The creel limits on ling (burbot) and walleye shall be unlimited.
Thanks for the information and correcting me. When I read the regs I didn’t see that. Now I know.[;)]![]()
