Does anyone know if the ice there is safe and is the fishing even good. I haven’t been to that lake since I was a kid so I’m not sure if its worth going to that lake even.
Just checked it today at 3:00. Very thin ice and open water at the ramp and 4 inches of slush floating on the water at the dock…

Sure, I live in Bountiful and once it ices I fish it up to 5 times a week. It a fun place to get a fix. Catch mostly small planter trout and albinos. small jigs, tubes and power bait…
No perch, bluegill or crappie??
That’s all I ever catch in the winter, I know they have bass, I want to target them this year, could be fun…
I fished it last year to try out some gear - it had five inches but changes quickly. It’s close by you can walk out on the ramp and drill a hole. It’s nasty water can’t see past the hold. Not worth the trip if you ask me…but let me know if you go. I got a few piner albino trout.

Bountiful pond can be good. Target deep water, between the islands. There are some great bullhead catfish out there, use raw shrimp (yes they’re expensive but they don’t fail). The trout aren’t worth the effort unless you want to practice catch n release. I haven’t seen bass on the DWR stocking list. Supposed to have Walleye, I’ve never even heard of them there though.
There are bluegill in there. Tons of dink-sized bluegill along the shore thus last summer.
