Tough day on the Chick today not that many boats out there compared to a few weeks ago. The lake seemed dead. No wind, no current, lots of heat and a super slow bite <br /><br />Thought it was going to be good. Started out with a solid 3lb fish on top water in the first 15 minutes. Then a couple of blow ups and that died. <br /><br />Tried deeper ledges… I suck at that… No bites. Tried frogs on grass mats… Blew it up a few times but couldn't boat anything. <br /><br />Tried spinnerbait over grass an picked up a small keeper size fish..<br /><br />Tried a little deeper worm and jig and nothing.<br /><br />Decided to crank a deep CB and caught a nice 2.5 smallie. <br /><br />Partner missed a couple and had a nice LM right at the boat but that was it.<br /><br />Left around noon sweating like a pig. <br /><br />Better than work or mowing grass I guess.
