I fished the dogfight out of mcp with my soon to be son-in-law.He has only been bass fishing a couple of times and told me that he has only caught 4 or 5 bass in his life.well we start out in mcp,i was throwing a red eye shad and he was fishing a kvd 1.5,i picked up a couple of slicks and he hooked into a big fish, well we got excited until he got it to the boat and it rolled to the surface and we saw it was a drum.so we decided to hit another area were i caught a few a couple of weeks ago.we get there and he catches a slick on the crankbait, then about 15 min later he hooks into another big fish,he was having a hard time getting the fish up so i told him it was probley another drum or catfish,so he finally gets it up to the boat and i seen her roll and saw it was a bass, after a couple more hard runs we finally get her in the net.now here is a guy thats only been bass fishing a couple of times and is fishing his first tx and catches a 7.1lb bass.needless to say i couldnt even catch a 15" bass, and we end up with 1 fish for 7.1lbs and finished 4th.well atleast we got big fish.
congrats Greg on your 7th bass of your life and your pb.The water temp was 58-60 were we fished and stained to muddy.
