Hit black canyon today only one there except for nature caught a few lost a lot sunny light breeze all in all perfect day caght them on hares ears, and small black buggers
Where is this black canyon or the part in the picture. Is it up by pallisades?
I am asking cause I am interested in floating it with my toon and am wondering about those stairstep in the river.
Its in grace, no floating walking is the way to do it
Hi
Poky, mon–that second attachment is one heck of a picture. I was so interested in the number of deer, I almost missed the pheasant in the pic. This time of year makes for great wildlife viewing. My wife and I drove up to Lucky Peak yesterday (just minutes from downtown Boise) and in one spot alone saw antelope right by the road, tons of deer just up from them, and a good number of elk–all bulls–up higher. Looks like you picked a nice day to soak it all in. Mike
Couldn’t have gotten any better I lived up there back in 90 -91 always drove up to idaho city and hit the water on the way up
Always an enjoyable area. Looks like the water was close to perfect- a tinch high but pretty close. Did you stay with in sight of the bridge or hike ?
started below bridge and worked my way down
That is a great report. I grew up in Preston and black canyon was my where my old man taught me how to fly fish. I love that place, usually not many big fish but it can be a really fun place to fish. Thanks for the report.
