BIG GAME DRAWS

Yes, that’s what I’m thinking. The unit I’m putting in for requires max points

I have a $35 charge… as I knew I would get my archery buck tag. I am really hoping for another charge though. My wife put in for 5 choices of general hunts, and it would be her first year hunting. If not… I hope to get her to buy an elk tag anyways.

I talked with one of my hunting partners who also put in for the same unit as me for Elk, He had 15 points and did not draw either. So I am more than likely two years out at least before I can draw my LE elk. I have waited this long I guess two more years minimum[:/].

Those of you who have not had hits on your cards yet, do not give up. I am 99.999999% sure they are not done.

Our family applied (me, my wife, and son) applied for the following:

2 CWMU’s deer ($35)
1 LE Elk ($280)
Our OIL Tags
and 2 Northern General Deer tags
Any Bull Youth hunt

We have two seperate hits. One for $280 (elk) and one for $35.

The $35 hit means we have drawn one of the 4 deer tags.

I am positive that we will draw 2 Northern General tags. There has alway been leftover tags and if there is not this year, I would be surprised. I would guess the odd of drawing these general tags would at least be in the high 90’s percentile…

There goes your profit sharing for the mount, that’s one thing I do miss not working at PH.

I was just thinking about how I would pay for all the expenses if I shoot a big boy. Thanks for reminding me, now I’ll have enough for a mount and gas for the scouting trips. :sunglasses:
Good old PH [sly]

You will probably have some outfitters trying to get your buisness as well. I know they don’t publish the names on the DWR site anymore but some how a few of their brochures reached my mail box when I drew my elk and my moose tags. I enjoyed doing it on my own, the Mossback boys were hunting in one of the areas that I was hunting in, don’t think they found the bull that they were looking for but later on there was a great bull taken in that area with a muzzle loader that at the time I think was the # 1 typical muzzle loader bull. Once again good luck on your hunt and being a youngster will make it all the more enjoyable.

Thanks, I’m sure it will be a good time.
I don’t want any kind of outfitter or guide. I like DIY hunts, you get more satisfaction out of the hunt. I just talked to my wife’s boss and he killed the new #15 archery bull down there last year. It scored in the 380s and had a sweet looking front that turned downward.
I’m pretty stoked.

Took my dad 14 years but he finally drew a CWMU elk tag for the Preston Nutter Ranch. Were stocked to get out there and get a monster! Next year its my turn for the same unit but I’m going for deer!

Congratulations to everybody else that drew a 2010 tag.

My buddy and I drew out for SE general season deer. I split my bonus points (9) for LE buck and I figured we wouldn’t draw so no hard feelings there. I’m actually glad to hunt SE as I did not draw for it last year. I now have ten bonus points for deer and I don’t know whether to hold out for Paunsi or Henry or hunt Book Cliffs and get it over with so I can start with my elk points. Life is full of tough decisions…

good drawing on all of u that drew tags.pete i think u eat more elk than me.i just bought bonous points for the wife and my son she sits with 15 elk and 14 moose. im done drawing anything although i got a s utah deer tag a buddy says hes got some monsters down there,so i regusted that tag for my life time well see. good luck to everyone that drew.

I drew Book Cliffs Muzzleloader deer. I have been putting in for eight years. And now, I’m thinking about turning in my tag.Working in Elko Nevada and will be until October. Thats just too long of a drive to come home( 4.5 hours) and then drive out to scout another 4.5 hours. 18 hours of driving on my three days off just to go look seems a bit much. Dont know what to do. My son is facing a similar problem, he may have to turn his back in and try again next year. He had 12 points for elk.
