High prices and long waits = Utah
Most residents will wait 10+ years on average for a decent Elk tag in Utah. The rest just get extremely lucky. And some will wait up to 16 years for some tags.
My buddy from Fruitland had 14 or 15 points and my son had 12 going into the draw for LE elk. I just checked my credit card and found I drew a general archery deer tag. Come on hunting season. LOL.

Congrats to your son and you for all your tags your drawing… I just went online and printed some stuff from the website and I think I had only 5 points for this LE tag I got… see both pages to my attachment… wow, I think I am going to wendover and do some gambling.
Get it on to Wendover, I’m about drawn out for this state, started applying for buffalo.

did you apply in Wyoming this year, I did not, but I can always go up there and get some doe tags. They still allow 4 doe deer and 4 doe antelope per hunter.. I think I paid $29.00 per last year… (non-resident). If I need any meat after UT. hunt I will do that..
We didn’t draw elk tags, but didn’t expect to after both of us drawing last year. We will apply for points for antelope, the outfitter/rancher invited us back last year to kill some speed goats when we draw a permit. We are waiting to see if we drew our deer tags, that’s always a fun hunt, deer, pheasant, ducks and geese all in one week’s hunt.
Well… looks like another year of fishing for me this fall. No credit card charges to me. Maybe something could happen still but not lookin good.
If i dont draw, I now have 15 points Elk and 11 moose. im sure hopeing its in the next year or two. gotta be.
