Went to UL today to introduce a coworker to the thrills of white bass fishing. Fished from 1 to 4 pm and ended up boating 3 cats over albs each, 2 small crappie, 1 small LMB, 1 18 inch walleye and only 1 white bass. It was a great time. I would gladly trade catching alot of WB for the big channels we caught today.
Sounds like you did good!! Got everything the lake has to offer except a carp.
Did try to snag a few that were up shallow, but I was only able to bring back scales.
Cats hate me hit the river last night had a few bites and snagged a few muds but nothing to count I have a boat any suggestions on a good area and bait??
It seems like the ones we caught were up shallow preparing to spawn. We were using 1/8 ounce jigs slow retreive around reeds in two to four feet of water. In the marinas has always been good to me using Shrimp on the bottom.
