Best Places in Utah for SHORE-side fishing?

New to fishing in Utah and was just curious if there are any good places to fish from the shore. I’ve been to Tibble Fork…that place is WAY over-fished but beautiful. Utah Lake was ok but I didn’t get any bites from the docks…I’ve mostly been fishing Jordan River…that’s where I’ve had success. What / Where are some other places I could look into for some shore-side fishing…aka I’m too poor to own a boat right now.

It would help to know if you’re targeting a particular species or if you just want some action. The shore fishing should just get better as fall sets in and the weather cools a bit. I’ve personally done well at Scofield from the shore. Deer Creek and Jordanelle should start getting good as the number of rec boaters decreases. I’ve also heard that Starvation has been producing some big trout from shore.

Have you tried any of the community ponds? They are usually stocked often and if you get there early you can beat the crowds. By the way, welcome to the site, hope you are finding your way around ok.
