A friend and I headed off to fish the ladders today. We got a late start and started fishing around 11:30. About 5 minutes after getting our lines in the water the friendly DWR guys came by on sleds checking licenses. One came and checked us and the other checked on a couple of guys a few hundred yards away.
He was very friendly but not much help giving up the berry’s hot spots… oh well.
We were in about 20’ and with nothing on the sonar and no action in about 20minutes we moved out to 32’. The fishing was a little better. My buddy quickly landed a 14" cut fishing about 2’ off the bottom. I was seeing fish on my sonar suspended at 12’(probably rainbows) and quickly got a hookup. It was a real fighter but I never got more than a quick glimpse of it just before it threw the hook…[frown]
Well it kind of slowed a bit after that. We only ice four fish, three cutts(the 14 incher, a 17"slot and a nice 22") and a fat 18" rainbow.
We left around 3:30. A good time was had
