After school on friday come home pack up everything get in a rush put all my fishing and camping stuff into trailer. Put my puppy in the truck and dad drove and off we go to first stop to gas station and pick up mother of the trailer at gramas house. After that the real deal started. GOT TO GET TO BEAR LAKE BEFORE DARK. Ya we made it before dark. Unfold our amazing hybrid trailer and off to wait for the next morning.
THE REAL REAL DEAL STARTS. Saturday morning wake up 6 - 7 am go up on my wadders and all my gear for a few hours i caught a lot of these little mountain whites or carps idk what they are i got confused 0.0. but i caught over 20 + of them. I had a big cutty on my rod with a worm and bober but didnt hook good enought reeling and gone. sad day. I just start hearing the twins talking to me in my head telling me take out the silver fox lure that you bought. Took it out cast it reeled fast few cast then boom 20+ in cutty XD. First huge trout of the year. Plus i caught 2-5 more small cutties but didn’t get some of there pics same at for those other fishes.
Sadly like after 12 pm fishing started to slow down and suck. No more stupid little fishy so i walked in the water deep out and caught one nice carp. I had my bober sitting out there 5+ min and it didnt go down so i reeled and i had a fish 0.o bober dont go down but have fish intresting so i let it go. After that carp almost no bites all day. Tosed at night some worm went to camp fire while it rained. After 30 min went to rod and boom. my rod start bending. Start reeling a huge 3+ ft carp jumps and broke my line . That made me sad. That carp was lucky i didn’t bring out my surf fishing rod on him. Saturday or Sunday it snowed in the mountains and a little flurry at bear lake XD.
Sunday rain rain rain rain hate it so went to get ice cream and some goodies. Later went to cisco no bites but there’s a lot of carp next to shore so who ever want to get tons of carp it time to go to cisco beach now they were every where from all sizes. great time for spear fishing lol. Got skunked sunday.
Monday morning went to my spot on bear lake where i wadded out for cutties. I had one on then it got off thats all i had today. Not sucks a good day got skunked 2 days in a row.
Sorry to let everyone down on the kitties thing. There were not to good of coverage yet plus the water was to cold so ya.
So this trip wasn’t that bad. Just happy i got my cutty off my list. I will be at bear lake on pioneer weekend lets hope the coverage will grow so i can have a better time and lets hope i will slay some more cutties as well.

The gold, silver and black colors are the top 3. Size 2 is good for lakes, size 1 for rivers, size 0 for creeks. The Count Down Rapala in Rainbow Trout is DEADLY on Cuttys. Size CD 7 and CD 9 are the best for lakes, on rivers the CD 3 is a fish killer! It must be a hard life being a baby Rainbow Trout.

The climbing site is strictly for mountaineering photos…but the mods give me a free pass since they enjoy my adventures and like to keep up with us.[;)]

Way to go buddy! Ecellent job on the Bear Lake fishy’s. So there was no chance of the long linning I was talking to you about? I have a buddy that lives up there and says that works great this time of year.
Oh well the 3 of us should get up there for the fall lake trout spawn.

Good luck on the job search…its a tuff market out there right now. I got plenty of good spots on rivers to show you…trust me they are stacked with fish. I will have to let you borrow (you loose it you pay for it type deal) some CD 3 Rapala’s. Killer river lure to say the least. Where should we go 1st? Gonna be good times for sure.
You scored on the numbers.. Keep hitting it you’ll tie into a big one.. Hit the Marina if you like to cast from shore.. You might pick up a lunker with spawn on and all..
Where did you score the chubs or what ever they are?? I need some bait. I live two minutes from the lake..
Didn’t you say in another post you were camping at rendezvous did you try the creek that runs through there (big creek)we have always had good luck for chubs on the upper portions of that creek and this time of year the cutthroats like to run up it to spawn.. They used to close portions of it during the spawn too haven’t fished it much but used to every day when I was a kid
yes i was in the rendezvous are but that creek is closed for fishing till july 21 i believe because the cuts are spawning there so i didnt fish that area i just fished out in the deep water or around the bushes out in the deeper area. There was a post next to the creek saying the area was closed.
Wow really clear til the 21st of July wow didn’t think it was that long.. Next time your up I to would recommend the state marina last year they planted some rainbows not sure if they did it this year or not but ya can usually always catch a couple cutts there too.. Also Cisco beach the fun thing to do is long line if you can get a tube or boat.. I would try 1st or 2nd point for this… Cooler of beer and some cut bait usually Cisco works best..
ya i was sad that they closed that creek because there were huge browns and cutts spawning and it was tempting to fish there but i said no to it because i dont need any tickets but i manage to find one cutty swimming around by bushes out in the lake. ya when i went to cisco beach nothing bitting at all plus all i caught see were carp carp carp carp swimming close to shore. To many carp on cisco that day not funny at all.
Ya they stocked a few 8 in cutty that i caught even this year lol. Its just stupid they closed it for 2 months bs. at least when im gona be there pioneer day hello cuttyies your mine with the devil lure in my hand that u love XD
