Fish bear lake today. Rather slow fishing for trout. Cisco were easy to snag on the rock pile, with the occasional white fish. Otherwise, the fishing was tough. Two cuts between us and no lakers. Missed three others that would have been trout, out in 65 feet. Ice is a solid 5 inches on rock pile and about 4 at 65 feet. Anything beyond that and the ice really starts to thin out (even just 50 yards out from where I was) to about 3 inches max. Also, there are slushy soft spots on the way in/out from fishing. I am holding out for a couple of weeks to allow these cisco to leave and become digested. Then hopefully those stretched, and then starved bellies will entice the fish to actually want the meat on my jig. gl

MClaker sounds like it was last saturday when I was out there. Saw people snagging cisco and catching a few whitefish and a few cuts.
One guy had a good mac on but when he came up out of the hole he spit the lure out and elevator went back down the hole fast.
I know I can’t repeat what the guy said; but that’s fishing. Thanks for the post! Hope blfg goes saturday and we will se what he tells us. For me I’m headed south this weekend.
