Auger Blade Sharpening

I found a guy that will sharpen Ice auger blades for a very reasonable price. [under $10.00 per set]
He lives in Layton and does it from his home.
His phone number is 1-801-546-1347.

Kinda curious, does he do Nils Auger heads?

Give him a call and tell him how the Nills blades are attached.
He is retired and sharpens knives and other blades as a part time income.

Anyone ever try fish307.com auger blade exchange? They are closed right now but I bookmarked it last year and have been thinking about sending some used blades.

There is another guy in Davis County who is a full-time sharpener. His Clients are salons (scissors), medical equip, tools, etc. Does it all from his mobile office (van) he drives around.
Has sharpened my blades a few times over the years…excellent job, lasts. $10 for the pair.
His name is Ben…801-390-4784

Do you KNOW if the blades work after sharpening?

The price is sure right, and I love the principle of sharpening as opposed to buying new. But I had a fellow in Bountiful sharpen mine for my hand Strikemaster and I was pleased that the blades were razor sharp, but I found out when I got to the ice that the angle obviously had been altered just enough to make them completely useless. [:/] I hear I’m not the only one that has had this experience happen with this brand… so I’m leery about trying again. But I’d love to hear if someone’s been successful sharpening this particular brand of blades.
