Any opinions on when Jordanelle is Ice Fishable. I would think with the current and forecasted temperatures with snow, I would assume before long or within a week or two the ice would be safe. Rock Cliffs in particular. I’d appreciate any feedback and/or opinions.
Because Jordanelle is deeper than most of the other lakes (except for Strawberry which is about 1500 feet higher in elevation) it is about the last one around here to freeze up. It usually has safe ice around the 10th-15th of January or so…except for the shallower end of Rock Cliffs. You usually can go there around new years and catch slimers in the shallower areas but the areas deep enough for the perch aren’t safe until Mid January…
I live 10 minutes from Jordanelle I plan on going over on Friday to check it out I will let you know what I see.
It doesn’t freeze until mid january, too deep.
The only thing frozen at Jordanelle was the mud. It’s still is going to be a while before the ice is safe at Rock Cliff.
