Antlerless results

Its for the East canyon summit unit! I used to hunt around there along time ago haven’t been up there for quite some time I’ll have to go check it out make sure everything not posted!

Antlerless Elk, Chalk Creek, woohoo! I didn’t put in for anything else so I’m glad I drew out.

Looks like I drew out on both elk and moose this year! I just keep on collecting those bonus points! Maybe one of these years I’ll actually get the tag to go with them.

I really screwed up this year and let the archery tags sell out before I got one so I got a muzzleload deer tag and a rifle elk tag this year. Good ol’ general season stuff

Help from anyone!

I’m new to the whole draw system. I’ve been doing the military thing for the past 11 years, and everything has changed since I left. Here are some questions that hopefully someone can answer for me.

The addendum says Nine Mile, Range Creek is mostly private land. Looking at my BLM map it looks like a huge area, with a lot of BLM and State lands, with the private lands just being along the northern ridge. Has anyone hunted there? Why is it considered “mostly private?” Are all the Elk along that northern area?

Also, the 463 permits remaining, is that based on elk in the area, or just the fact that the area is huge?

I’m sure I could figure all this out, with a little time, but I want to be able to put in for a tag tomorrow.

Thanks,

Al

Some family members of mine do the cow hunt in nine mile every year. I didn’t hunt it but have gone with them for the last 3 years. What I can tell you is that a majority of the public land you are seeing on your map is locked to access by private lands. Success rates were pretty good for our party though.

Thanks,

Do you recall whether they were in the northern, or southern part? North looks better for hunting, but that is based solely on me lloking at a terrain map.

The Range Creek section of Nine Mile.

The wife and I both drew cow elk tags for my old stomping gounds " DLL" where I use to guide. We also drew our WY. deer tags. Looking forward to that along with my annual bird hunt in WY.[:p]
