Another Jordanelle update

Took another trip to Jordanelle on Tuesday 7/7. Hit the water right at sunrise along with about 3 other boats. Planter rainbows were plentiful straight out from the marina about 30 ft deep using typical surface trolling gear. Wonder bread dodgers with hot pink and orange hoochie rigs running planers on both sides. After saving a few rainbows for dinner moved over to entrance of Hailstone side in search of Kokes. We ran the same color pattern using Wonder Bread and Prism dodgers, with Hotpink and Orange spinner hoochies. The kokes seem to be at about 45ft deep along the entrance of the Hailstone arm. Green Maggots instead of the usual pinks seem to get the kokese to bite. We ended the day with a nice mix of Bows and Koke, with nothing being too big to brag about. Largest koke might have tipped 15".

Glad you are still catching them, too bad they are on the smaller side. Were you able to get off the water before the power squad showed up?

Off the water around 10:15. Power Squad seems to be slowly creeping in earlier but it has always been my goal to get off the lake around 10:30 at the very latest before the Party begins. On the really bad days I think how nice it would be if their was a Every other day schedule split between fisherman and Others Power sports. Must not be revenue effective. On the bright side, The cleaning stations are back up ! Hurray…

Yeah, the kokes are much smaller this year up there. Earlier I caught a couple of 18’s, but lately nothing much over 15". I gutted one that was 15", a female that would have spawned this year. So there’s clearly some stunting going on. Sad, as it’s much closer than Strawberry and our parks pass is good.
