hello all i just wonted to say thank you to you all for 2 years i have tryed to muster up the time and cureg to sine up for this forum and i just did i have injoyed reading your posts and have lerned alot about utah fishing (having grone up in california) i love to fish and just bot a house in what i consider fishing peridice (heber city utah) i have just one prodlum i dont know enyone and have never rilly fished on deer creek strwaberry or jodenell but i aqm planing on hiting them all on the ice this year hope to meet you all there and thanks for the tips plees forgiv my spelling the caifornia school sistum tot me well[:p]
Hello there fellow cali boy! My twin and I are from Ventura, CA.
I would say until Deer Creek and Jordanele ice up go for the middle Provo River and the lower provo river. Tossing blue fox spinners in size #2 in either gold or silver work well. Being that close sounds like mecca to me! Keep in touch and lets hit the hard deck someday.
Don’t forget about smith and morehouse res. as well as rockport. Smith and Morehouse is a hike right now but Rockport is iced up right now too!
sweet thanks for the tips i have not tryed to fish the provo with enything but my fly rod but i mite have to giv it a try and rock port is allways a must win its ice fishing time or eny time for that mater hope to see you and your twin there soon
fish sow bugs and little larvae patterns aswell as copperjohns in size 22. i also gotten em in the winter on big terestrial stoneflys. if you want more consistent big fish for fly fishhng hit the weber below rockport, fish should be concentrating in deep runs and bends, the provo has had lots of smaller fish for years, with an occasional 22 incher.
thanks jazz i think that the guys that fish the midol shood eat more fish we need to thin the herd so to speek or the food suply will sustan less and less of those trophy fish but i am almost afrad to get cot taking my limit to my tabel preditors harvesting small or week amimols is how the wrold works wy are we exempt??? so i will try to do my part and mack my kids eat the dinks
