A buddy and I fished the Ladders at Strawberry yesterday for about 5 or so hours. We were in 14 fow and should have went deeper.
We only had two bites (missed both on the hookset) and only marked about 8 or 9 fish. A couple planter bows did come up to the hole to check us out which was interesting behaviour.
A skunking was not the best way to break in my brand new fish house.
I need to get revenge now!
Wow Shane,that sucks…better head to Fish lake, sounds like they are biting good down there.
Well you got to break in the new gear but it sucks that more fish didnt come to play. Strawberry can be frustrating this time of year.

For what it’s worth, the fishing at Starvation sucked according to a couple of reports I got from there on yesterday’s fishing. Combo of fronts, cooling temps and full moon. Any other good excuses?

The fishing calendar said it would be a great day to fish. I went out on Friday, only caught 5. Did the best on white and red flecked Gazillia with wax worm and anchovy smelly jelly. Did not see many fish come through, many of those that did pass by looked and left. Had to move around a bit; caught fish around 10:30-11:30 then nothing. 20 FOW, fish at 12-14’.
Sounds like it was a great day to fish, just not a great day to catch
How much ice is there and any machines on there?
Ice is fine, good 12+ inches. Edges were fine. Saw 2 snowmobiles go past me. Careful with the pressure ridges.
