7/18 Jordy Koke report

The kokes are a lot more schooled up than they were last time I was at Jordanelle. We launched around 0630 and had about 2.5 hours until the power squadron showed up.

We found a point where the kokanee were holding from 20-45 feet and pulled a double every time we went over it. Pink and orange clown hoochies did the best for us. No one was home on the surface for the planer boards or surface gear.

It was a fun morning until I got buzzed by 3 wakeboats, who appeared to be affiliated, traveling on the same line about 50 yards from us. That was my cue to pull lines and go in.

Time to unite about a hundred of us fishing boats, anchored in a line across reservoir 299’ apart.
Then send video to LEO of every wake boat that makes a wave that crosses through line.

Every time I fish Jordanelle I have multiple wake boats at wake speed cruise by within 75 feet! Unless I leave early before any show up!
The other day one dropped a surfer at full wake speed then stop /turn 25 feet from 2 boats! Big wake it rocked us good and we were 150 yards away! Both other boats started yelling at them . They powered out surfer in tow! But did not come back at least!! And of course buzzed several other boats!
Many are so inconsiderate and clueless!! Something has to be done!
Rangers could write tickets all day long, there and deer creek as well as most recreation lakes! Had issues at Pineview last week! How about handing out a card with the speed and proximity law spelled out in plain English to EVERY boater!! And that they could be ticketed and fined!! I think it would make a difference, how much who knows . But better than what’s currently happening!
