I think this the big 60 pound laker caught on the Gorge that rumors have been going around about. I’m not sure of the pounds or the facts. I was just sent this photo by a friend. I’m not sure who caught it. Does anyone know anything else?

Seems to me that guy would be straining to hold up that fish if it was 60 lbs.
A fish that big from the gorge is very possible. However, I have to wonder about a few things.
- He is not holding that fish up against himself to assist with the weight. That is alot of fish to hold outright away from your body without bending your back alittle. No slime on him or wet in the front.
Not much excitement on that old boy, I know when I caught my fish over thirty I was flat out STOCKED!
But if its a true photo, Than hey right on dude!. What a toad. I will bet he is at the taxidermist. Would love to know more about him. Length, Girth etc.
Like the post says its a rumor only the persons in the boat know the real details even still heck of a nice fish.
While the fish in that picture is a nice one, I question it being much over 40 pounds. Here are three pics of lakers from other areas for a point of reference.

It ain’t anywhere near 60 pounds, but I’d still be tickled with it. The pink coloration on it is kinda weird though.
I think the rumored fish was the one that was caught on BFT’s own Tarponjim’s boat there at the Gorge. If you go to his site fishflaminggorge.com and go to his Big Fish pictures you will see that a gentleman landed the biggest fish ever landed in Capt. Jim’s boat. Not sure of the weight, but I know Capt. Jim has probably caught the state record Mac several times and let 'em go!!!

i do not doubt you when you say the photo is real but one question comes to mind when i see it.
im a pretty big dude (for those of you that have met Trout_Slayer, im bigger then him) and stay very active in the gym since there is nothing else to do here in iraq save being shot at again. when i take a preacher curl bar that weighs 25lbs, and add another 35lbs to it, that total is 60lbs. i am not as “seasoned” the the gentleman holding that nice laker, but even with the amount of time i spend in the gym, holding 60lbs, what looks like 14 to 16 inches away from my chest, with zero lateral support, well sir, i would start to strain or at least look like it after a few moments.
again, i am by no means calling you a farce, and for all i know the gentleman holding that fish is actually arny reincarnate, just stating what i see.

its not the same fish slayer. the guy with jim was taller with a smile. this is a real good fish. but 60??? looks moore like a high 40,s. but that fish is a killer fis!!! its awsome!!! i love the colors the sun cast in the photo. the head is wicked looking. ive caught a few with the big head. they look so neat when they first apear the heart just stops. do you have any release pic,s??? if moore saw that pic? if you say no. alot will never beleive the rest of the story. if you post that pic. then we all can shut up. beculse it backs you up. I agree with Crossineyes, maybe high 40’s but 60 maybe a far stretch. Calling my brother weak is a pretty low blow especially for what he does right now that gives you the opportunity to do what you do…FISH!!! It was caught trolling huh? SO basically the fisherman didnt catch the fish he just waited around for the fish to hook itself huh? Good on ya!!! Regardless it is still a nice fish, try jiggin’ for them, kinda lazy just trollin around isnt it??? Capt. Jim is the man, myth and legend he’ll show you how to CATCH them not HOOK them!!![;)]
