Holy hog fest, nothing like starting where you left off last year… Hey I’ve been slow spinning up on the new site as well… I had a couple cat’s but after seeing that one I don’t think I want to enter mine any more… congrats Jim that’s a great fish… J

Hey Jim, been a too busy summer with the farmers market and farming in general, plus work put us back in the office, so I don’t have as much time to post since I’m commuting 2 plus hours a day (not in a vanpool anymore).. But now I’ve got the farm put to bed for the winter, well still have the high tunnel with some produce alive and well, but we’re pretty much done selling it, so I’m calling it winter so I can get some fishing in… Deer hunt is behind me, who knows I might actually get my boat on the water for the second time this year… Shame to spend all that money on park passes, licenses and never get out and use it… In fact I’ve been hearing Hyrum is so low the water just verily hit the end of the ramp after being way to low to launch for sometime… Hope these rains bring it up to where I can get a fall bow run in.. If not I better take your lead and head to Bear Lake and try a real fish… Hey thanks for all you’ve done keeping the cat contest alive and doing well… Hoping things will pick up on the forum… I’ve been checking in every twice in awhile, but not seeing as much action as it used to be… But I guess with Pat gone we knew we’d lose one post a week, not to mention a ton of replies… Miss him being around, guess we need to do a better job of carrying on his legacy… Anyway thanks for the howdy and keep in touch, hope you get on the ice this year so we’re not on opposite ends of the fishing seasons.. Sure looks like you’re team is rock’en the cat contest lately… Have you heard much from BLK lately, kind of blew my mind he didn’t have any cats entered… Hope Lynn’s health is okay… Later Jeff

Good to hear from you! I might get out one more time for the contest, but I’m not sure. Jon and I were on the lake Saturday trying to stock up on fillets from smaller fish. It’s a long winter before I can catch them again. Tough conditions, water was 53 degrees with 10-15 mph NW winds all day. We found a few, but averaged only 1 per hour. It should still be 2+/hour.
I haven’t heard from BLK since about May. He didn’t mention any specific health issues then, but he did go quiet after that. I better send him and email and see how things are.
I miss Pat too. It seems funny, but my excitement to post has dwindled a little after he’s been gone and I think the two things are related.
Yup I agree with ya there for sure… Well good luck if you get back on the pond… Is Saturday the end for the contest this year? Maybe I’ll have to try to get out after work before the time changes and I lose that hour of light… Hard for me to believe that winter is coming on so fast, but it’s almost sneaking up on us… Later J
