BUSCH Beer Offers Consumers a Chance to Reel in $1 Million in Second Annual “Catch Big Jake” Promotion

The contest, which will run May 4 through June 4, gives fishing enthusiasts the opportunity to reel in $1 million while enjoying the outdoors.

This year, 40 fish will be “tagged” and placed into 40 bodies of water (see attached) around the United States. A $1 million grand-prize tag will be attached to one of the fish, called Big Jake. The remaining 39 fish will be tagged for secondary prizes of $1,000.

2002 BIG JAKE OFFICIAL RULES 1. No Purchase Necessary. Open to legal residents of the United States (except CA), 21 years of age or older who comply with all fishing laws and regulations. 2. To participate, fish any of the bodies of water in the list below between May 4, 2002 and June 4, 2002. If the fish caught contains a tag with this promotion’s prize message and this toll-free number, 1-800-764-2413, you may be a prize winner (subject to verification). Non-winning fish are not tagged and do not contain any message. Only official tags from the 2002 Big Jake promotion are eligible. All other tags are invalid and void. LOUIS (June 23, 2003) - Anheuser-Busch, Inc., today announced the winners of “Catch Big Jake,” a national fishing contest sponsored by BUSCH beer and supported by the National Fish and Wildlife Foundation. Sixteen consumers each won $1,000 by catching fish that were tagged for the “Catch Big Jake” promotion. (See attached list of winners).

The “Catch Big Jake” contest included 110 individual fish that were “tagged” and placed into 55 different bodies of water. The contest ran May 3 through June 3. A grand prize tag was attached to one fish called “Big Jake.” The remaining 109 fish were tagged for secondary prizes of $1,000 each.

“We’re thrilled so many consumers each won $1,000 in this summer’s ‘Catch Big Jake’ promotion,” said Tom Wilson, brand manager, Busch/Natural Families, Anheuser-Busch, Inc. “BUSCH beer has long been associated with the great outdoors and we will continue to look for new ways to provide fun programs for anglers, promote conservation and support the efforts of the National Fish and Wildlife Foundation.”
