fly tying stations

Mine is an old computer table that was designed for a radio Shack TRS80, btw which was for my first computer that I bought in 1978.[/size][/#008000][/font]

like you I recently switched out my folding table for our old computer hutch.. its just a tad smaller.. but has shelves.. have not done a lot at it but I like the simpler setup..

btw.. my very first computer was a ti 99-4a.. made by Texas Instruments.. it was a keyboard that you hooked to a tv. to save a program I had a cassette tape player with a "special" interface cable.. how we have advanced LOL..

I remembered when I brought my first computer home and my wife said what does it do and I said nothing. [shocked] I had to program it to respond to my commands. I used basic language as I didn't have time to learn fortran or cobalt. O yea it had 16K of memory. Didn't dare turn it off for everything would be lost. Now today my external hard drive alone is 260 gigs. [/size][/#008000][/font]

none.. it had a small slot for game cartridges.. or you could run a "program" from the game cassette.. but once you shut it off.. all was gone

I still have my TI99-4A out in the garage some where.

I think it was 8k of ram memory but it might have been 16k..
Should see if some museum somewhere would want it.

With digital TV now you can not even buy a new TV it will work on.

My tying desk is the same one I started tying on. A 1940 vintage corner table. It now is doing double duty as my computer desk. Gotta reach around both sides of the vice to tap away on the keyboard. Have not been tying in a while so the vice is off to the side now.

after I posted last night I realized that computer had to have some memory. otherwise it could not boot.. lol. I lost that one a long time ago.. it was replaced by an apple IIe.. and later by a series of pc's down to the laptops I work from now..

my table is idle as well. I always have good intentions of tying something up but usually lose that when catching up on things over the weekend..
