Sorry GEEZER, that's a brown all the way.
Look at those giant black spots along its side. Look at the shape of its head. It's a male brown trout, about as dark as they come.
When they're that dark, they don't always show the white leading edge on the pelvic and pectoral fins.
Male rainbows can get pretty dark, but nothing like the pictured fish, plus they'll usually have much smaller spotting and white fin tips.
